Joshua Nissan, known as “Steel,” is a 31-year-old Canadian former CS:GO player who had played for teams like Ghost Gaming, Chaos Esports Club, and more. In September 2020, he joined the 100 Thieves’ Valorant roster.

100 Thieves is among one of the best teams in North America as they win some of the top-tier tournaments. However, they had been underperforming against the top teams in the events, which happened in the VCT Masters Berlin.

Following the upset in Berlin, 100 Thieves decided to make roster changes and announced yesterday that Steel is benched as they promoted Aaron “b0i” Thao to the active roster who had been working with the team as a substitute for two months.

In addition to that, the North American organization revealed on social media that the youngster Johann “seven” Hernandez will be joining the team as the main substitute for the upcoming events.

Furthermore, Steel also pointed out that he is not retiring from competitive Valorant yet, and he will be returning for VCT Masters 2022. This also could mean that Steel might represent another organization than 100 Thieves.

“I’m not done as a competitor, not even close,” Steel talked about his future as well as marking his return to the competitive arena in the next year. “I’ll be returning for the 2022 VCT season.”

Here is the official announcement from 100 Thieves:

Please welcome b0i to the 100 Thieves Valorant starting roster. b0i has been working with the team for several months as a sub and we’re excited to see what he can bring to the team as we move towards LCQ and Valorant Champions.

Steel will be moved to a substitute position, with seven as our main substitute moving into the final tournaments of the year.”

100 Thieves is now:

Nicholas “nitr0” Cannella
Spencer “Hiko” Martin
Peter “Asuna” Mazuryk
Ethan “Ethan” Arnold
Aaron “b0i” Thao
Johann “seven” Hernandez (substitute)
