100 Thieves’ nitr0 Talks About Leaving Team Liquid

Nicholas Cannella, known as “nitr0,” is a 26-year-old American Valorant player who has been playing under 100 Thieves jersey for over one year. Before starting his Valorant career, he was playing CS:GO.

nitr0 made a name for himself in Team Liquid who joined the team in 2015, and he played for the North American organization until August 2020 following the unexpected results in the tournaments.

During a recent interview with, nitr0 talked about his decision to leave Team Liquid and joining 100 Thieves’ Valorant roster.

In the conversation, the experienced player pointed out that being away from home for such a long time was so hard and said that he was missing his family a lot during the tournaments around the world.

While talking about the struggles he faced during his Counter-Strike career, nitr0 also pointed out that it was so difficult for him to leave Team Liquid after six years because it became his identity.

nitr0 reflected on leaving Liquid in the interview:

“It was very difficult always being away from the US. You get homesick very often and miss your family a lot.

Leaving Liquid was really hard because it was my identity for 6 years. That consistency in an inconsistent career path was so nice. It was hard to let that all go.

I really didn’t really know what I wanted to do or what I was capable of doing. Yet, I saw Valorant as an opportunity to have a lighter calendar for travel.”

100 Thieves and nitr0 played their first LAN event at VCT 2021: Stage 3 Masters – Berlin, which is one of the biggest tournaments in the game, and they ended up losing in the semifinals against Team Envy.
