100 Thieves Valorant Player Steel Criticizes Riot Games: “First Strike NA Should Have Been Double-Elimination”

Joshua Nissan, known as “Steel,” is a 30-year-old Canadian former CS:GO player who had been playing for Chaos Esports Club since November 2019. In September 2020, he joined 100 Thieves as a Valorant player.
While playing in the First Strike and reaching out to the finals of the tournament, Steel wanted to share his thoughts about how this tournament works and criticized Riot Games.
In the post, Steel stated that Riot Games should have made this tournament in double-elimination format because it is really sad to be eliminated due to one game after playing 3 open and 2 closed qualifiers. Also, he mentioned that he said this even before the tournament starts.
Here is what Steel said:
“For what it’s worth, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: this main event should have been double elimation. No way you run a month of qualifiers with 3 open and 2 closed qualifiers to just go straight into a single elim bracket.
Bonkers.
If not double elim then gsl groups to determine the 4 semi finalists. Should have added to this sorry.”
