Patrick Hansen, known as “es3tag,” is a 24-year-old Danish CS:GO player who had played for teams like Heroic, Tricked Esports, and more. Since July 2020, he had been playing for Astralis.

After joining Astralis, es3tag became one of the strongest players in the 7-man-roster of the team, and he was shining on every game they played since then. Moreover, he was one of the key members for the victory of ESL Pro League Season 12: Europe.

Earlier of today, Astralis announced that they agreed to the transfer of es3tag to Cloud9 and wished good luck for their former player. Also, est3ag explained why he decided to join Cloud9 even after the recent victory they got with Astralis.

es3tag stated that Cloud9’s offer was definitely a thing he needed to consider about and admitted that he liked the idea behind the project. Furthermore, es3tag said that he believes this team will be one of the best teams in the world in the future.

Here is what es3tag said:

“Things have gone extremely fast. I am proud to represent Astralis, I love the fans and I never for a second thought, I would be moving on to a different team this early. I just won my first big title and I truly enjoy working with all the guys on and around the team. Over the past 6 months, I have grown as a person and a player, and I owe a lot to the organization.

That being said, what Cloud9 is offering me is something I needed to consider seriously. I love the ideas behind the project, and I believe it will be a team to consider in the top of CS for the years to come. While I am sad to leave Astralis and all the people here, I look forward to the challenge in Cloud9. Thanks to the fans for the massive support they have shown me, I will always have Astralis and the fans very close to my heart!”

Cloud9 is now:

Patrick “es3tag” Hansen (will join after DreamHack Open Fall)

Özgür “woxic” Eker

Ricky “floppy” Kemery

Alex “ALEX” McMeekin

William “mezii” Merriman
