Owen Butterfield, known as “Smooya,” is a 20-year-old British AWP player who had been playing for Chaos Esports Club since January 2020. Before that, he was playing for BIG Clan.

Around ten days ago, Smooya had to go to his country due to the visa issues which happened due to the coronavirus outbreak and he was benched during this time by Chaos Esports Club.

Yesterday, Smooya has shared a new post on his official Twitter account and make an announcement about his future. Smooya stated that he had to leave the team because of the coronavirus outbreak and saddened the fans.

Here is what Smooya said:

“Due to COVID-19, I’ve been permanently removed from the Chaos Esports Club roster meaning I’m a free agent. Sucks to lose a job because of the virus but it’s how it is sometimes ladies and gentlemen. I’ll be streaming most days and looking to mix/fill for anybody if needed!

Thank you all for the kind words, hoping to get back to playing as fast as possible as I don’t want to slow my progress down. Any updates I get will be provided to all you guys too as soon as I can! Much love. “

Evil Geniuses player Tarik replied:

“Da fook m8 already gone? Didn’t even put up a video with you… Ehhh fk it. I’ll throw you on a thumbnail anyway.”

Another player Wardell replied:

“You’ll be back it ain’t no thang. Until then! GL”
