Damian “daps” Steele is a 27-year-old Canadian former CS:GO player who is considered as one of the best in-game leaders in the North American scene. He started to bring trophies by joining Optic Gaming in 2016.

The squad was featuring such players as Will “RUSH” Wierzba and Keith “NAF” Markovic. However, he left the roster in September. After few months, he created his own team, featuring the current Evil Geniuses members as Tsvetelin “CeRq” Dimitrov and Vincent “Brehze” Cayonte.

When they pushed for their potentials from nowhere, daps got cut once again after three years in NRG Esports. Although he tried his luck with a new project in Cloud9, it ended so quickly through the end of 2019.

Afterward, the veteran player joined another project with Gen.G Esports in December 2019. However, things didn’t go well for them following the online era of the CS:GO, and he left the roster in September.

After a short period, Daps announced his return to NRG Esports, but this time as a Valorant player. The roster included such talented players as Sam “s0m” Oh, but they couldn’t live with the expectations.

As Daps announced that he decided to leave NRG Valorant roster, he revealed that he doesn’t enjoy Valorant anymore and this is why he made this decision. Yesterday, Daps returned to the CS:GO scene, but not as a player this time.

Evil Geniuses announced that they signed Daps as a new head coach for their CS:GO roster, which means that he will lead the original roster he created with NRG Esports back in the days as a coach.

Here is the official announcement from Evil Geniuses:

A familiar face is joining our squad. Please welcome daps as our new Head Coach for CSGO”
