Matthew Stevens, known as “Hotancold,” is a 22-year-old American Rainbow Six Siege player who had been playing for DarkZero Esports since November 2018. Previously, he was playing for SK Gaming.

Yesterday, DarkZero Esports took their official Twitter account to share a new post and made an unexpected roster announcement by parting ways with Hotancold.

Furthermore, Hotancold made a statement after the official announcement and admitted that he never thought he would say goodbye to DarkZero Esports and thanked everybody for supporting him in this period.

Here is the official announcement from DarkZero Esports:

“Matt has been a member of DarkZero since it’s inception and his contributions to it are immeasurable. With that being said we will be releasing Matthew “Hotancold” Stevens from the 5 man roster and allowing him to explore his options freely. More info in the coming days.”

Here is what Hotancold wrote:

“Honestly never thought I’d ever say goodbye to DZ, want to say thanks to everyone there for treating me like family for all these years. To all of my fans, I plan to continue playing professionally just have to weigh my options moving forward. I guess this is what they call LFT…”
