Jonathan Jablonowski, known as “EliGE,” is a 24-year-old American CS:GO player who has been playing under Team Liquid jersey for over six years. In his career, he earned over $900.000 from the events.

EliGE spoke in a recent interview with Team Liquid’s website and talked about the game modes, operations, events, and many more things as well as his opinion about the iconic map, named Cobblestone.

CS:GO is a game that has almost zero meta changes besides the map pool changes. One of the biggest changes happened when Valve decided to remove Cobblestone from the map pool and add Dust 2 back in 2018.

This also means that whoever played Cobblestone needed to prepare for another map since it can not be played anymore, and the teams who were banning it were much more relieved because of this change.

In the conversation, EliGE pointed out that Cobblestone was such a good map back in the days and said that it showed lots of variety about how teams could approach the game and executes on the bombsites.

EliGE admitted that Cobblestone was one of their strongest map if not the best, and the removal of Cobblestone hurt their strength a lot. Also, EliGE thinks that this map should return to the active map pool once again.

EliGE shared his opinion about Cobblestone:

“I do want Cobble back. I think we need same type of competitive map back into the pool. It was a good map back then, I liked it a lot.

I think that it showed a lot variety, especially towards B [bombsite]. We saw a lot innovation of how people want to execute on the side and how wanted to respond to those executions on the side. I think people came up with lots of creative ideas.

We were good at Cobblestone back then. I know it was our best map back then when it was in the pool. It was either our best or second-best map. It hurt a lot when they took Cobble.”
