Patrick Hansen, known as “es3tag,” is a 25-year-old Danish CS:GO player who started to make a name for himself with Astralis last year. After putting numbers in the scoreboard, Cloud9 signed him for their new colossus project in October.

However, Cloud9 couldn’t handle the pressure and failed to perform in the tournaments. Therefore, the organization decided to shut down their CS:GO roster and announced that they will only return to the scene when the LAN events comes back.

As es3tag becomes a free agent, most of the top tier teams wanted to sign him. About a week ago, es3tag announced that he joined Complexity Gaming to reach to the top level once again, replacing a long-time member Will “RUSH” Wierzba.

Yesterday, es3tag spoke in a recent interview with hltv.org and talked about his time in Cloud9, his decision behind joining Complexity Gaming, his ambition to become the best, and many more.

In the conversation, es3tag also revealed why he wanted to join Complexity Gaming among the other organizations and said that playing with Benjamin “blameF” Bremer and knowing his work ethic is one of the main reasons.

On the other hand, es3tag touched upon the fact that CEO of Complexity Gaming, Jason Lake, has a huge passion for the game and he wants to win all the time. Besides that, all of the players want to win and that’s why he found Complexity Gaming is complete fit for him.

Interviewer asked:

“What made the Complexity offer stand out? What made it interesting and why did you end up deciding to go this way?”

es3tag replied:

“I think one of the things is that I knew blameF and his work ethic, and I really respect the number of hours that he puts into the game. I know I’m joining a team where this is not going to be just a stroll in the park, people are going to work really hard, and they want to win trophies.

I spoke a lot to Jason Lake before signing, and you know, if you’ve ever seen the guy on a Discord call cheering on his team or being at an event, you know that guy wants to win no matter what.

And that’s what I’m here for, as well. In the beginning, I saw the jks interview, and all he wants to do is win, he’s had a long career and now he wants to win. Everyone on this team wants to win, and that’s what I want to do. I want to cement myself at the top, and this is how I’m going to do it, with a bunch of people that have the same mindset and goals.”

Later in the conversation, es3tag also explained how he feels about reuniting with blameF as well as their coach peacemaker and praised the talent of both blameF and peacemaker.
