Nikola Kovac, known as “Niko,” is a 23-year-old Bosnian CS:GO player who had been playing for FaZe Clan since February 2017. Previously, he was playing for Mousesports. On October 28, 2020, he decided to join G2 Esports.

During a recent interview with hltv.org, Niko explained the main reason why he decided to leave FaZe Clan and join G2 Esports.

In the conversation, Niko mentioned that the biggest motivation source was playing with his cousin, Nemanja “huNter,” Kovac. Also, Niko revealed that he wouldn’t be joining G2 Esports if huNter wasn’t there and showed his dedication to playing with his cousin.

Interviewer asked:

“Tell me about the decision to leave FaZe and join G2. What were your main motivations behind that move?”

Niko replied:

“Obviously, the biggest motivation for this move was huNter. If huNter wasn’t in G2, I probably wouldn’t have joined them.

He was the biggest reason. If I was ever to leave FaZe, I would always try to join the team he’s playing for, so that’s the clear decision, I think everyone already knows that…”

He also said:

“I had other options, too. G2 wasn’t the only option that I was willing to take, but the only thing I knew when I decided to leave the team was that I was going to play with huNter…”
