Fnatic had devastating results in the regular season of LEC Spring 2021 after the departures of Nemesis and Rekkles and the additions of Nisqyy and Upset, and they went to the playoffs from the fifth place by winning only half of their matches.

Even though they won the first series in the playoffs against SK Gaming with 3-1, they lost Schalke 04 Esports with a clean sweep. After having such tragic results in the tournament, the whole community was expecting to see the roster changes from them.

About a month ago, the legendary top laner of Fnatic, Bwipo, stated that he doesn’t want to be in Fnatic if he doesn’t perform well. Later on, the rumor dropped in that Bwipo and their jungler Selfmade wouldn’t be expanding their contracts for the next year. Furthermore, it also rumored that Bwipo could swap to the jungle role as Selfmade leaves the roster.

Yesterday, Fnatic announced the signing of 19-year-old French prodigy Adam “Adam” Maanane and announced that he is the new top laner of the roster. Also, Adam also confirmed that Bwipo will be staying in Fnatic in the next split.

“I’m really lucky that he’s staying on the team even if he’s role swapping, because he can still help me improve,” the new top laner of the Fnatic said. “He has started to train in the jungle over the past few months and he’s already had some duos with Hylissang.”

While Adam was saying that Bwipo could help him improve as a top laner during an interview with Laure Valee, he also confirmed that Bwipo is the new jungler of the team and has been practicing in the jungle role for a while now.

Here is the official announcement from Fnatic:

“A new French king on top. Adam represents the start of a new era for Fnatic, as we look to write the story of our next ten years on the rift. Welcome to the Black & Orange, Adam.”

Fnatic is now:

  • Adam “Adam” Maanane
  • Gabriël “Bwipo” Rau
  • Oskar “Selfmade” Boderek (expected to leave)
  • Yasin “Nisqy” Dinçer
  • Elias “Upset” Lipp
  • Zdravets “Hylissang” Iliev Galabov
