Before Fnatic started the LEC Summer 2021, there was a huge controversy about their roster because they couldn’t make it to the finals in the last split, as well as underperforming in the regular season.

The organization decided to switch Gabriël “Bwipo” Rau from top lane to the jungle while parting ways with Oskar “Selfmade” Boderek, and they signed a young prodigy for their top lane, Adam “Adam” Maanane.

After learning about this change, the world was wondering what would Fnatic do in the Summer Split, and how would that change their playstyles after changing the jungler. As the split goes on, Fnatic showed promising performances in the rift.

During a recent interview with Inven Global, Bwipo talked about how they want to play as a team as well as how he wants the roster to play around their bot lane duo, Elias “Upset” Lipp and Zdravets “Hylissang” Iliev Galabov.

As Bwipo praised the talent of both of these players by saying that they are the star power of the team, he also revealed that the team will play around the bot lane and give all resources to them in order to win the games.

Bwipo on their gameplan in this split:

“I know that Upset-Hylissang are, in my opinion, the bot duo that’s the best laners in the LEC, and I know for a fact that they can push that all the way to the Worlds stage. For me, focusing on their strengths as laners and trying to enable them is key in order to find ways in performing at a high level.

I want to create a team, in this case, that would be playing around our bot lane, because in my opinion, they’re the ‘star power’ of the team. This is where we have our strongest laners relative to the opponents’ as well.

I think Adam and Nisqy are also great players, but relative to what we’ve seen, and when I think about it logically, I think our bot lane is our strongest win condition, and trying to create a way where I can bring Nisqy to really leverage the fact that we have a stronger bot lane is something I want to drive forward within our team.”

With this statement, Bwipo actually showed the roadmap of Fnatic to the success for the long-term. With the leadership of such player as Bwipo, it wouldn’t be surprise to see them at top once again.
