Elias Lipp, known as “Upset,” is a 21-year-old German League Of Legends player who has been playing under Fnatic jersey as an ADC player since November 2020. Before that, he was playing for Astralis.

Although Fnatic had a rough start at 2021 LEC season, especially in Spring, they managed to come back in Summer as Gabriël “Bwipo” Rauswitched to the jungle and Adam “Adam” Maanane joined the team as the new top laner.

As Fnatic finished LEC Summer 2021 in second place, they found a spot at the 2021 League Of Legends World Championship. Before they started to play their debut match, the unfortunate news hit the European organization.

Fnatic announced that Upset won’t be competing with the team until further notice because he went back to his own country because of an urgent family matter. Therefore, they have been playing with Louis “Bean” Schmitz since then.

Unfortunately, the organization couldn’t have a great start at Worlds without Upset as they lost the first two matches against Royal Never Give Up and PSG Talon. After Fnatic lost against PSG Talon, Upset shared a statement about his absence via Twitter.

In the post, the ADC player stated that even though playing at Worlds one of his biggest dreams, being his family is more important especially when there’s intense suffering. As Upset said, this was the right thing to do.

Furthermore, Upset cleared the air about the recent rumors about the reason for his leaving and said that anything other people would say is not true and asked everybody to stop speculating. Also, the talented player said that he will be taking a break from social media as well.

Upset on his absence:

“Everyone who knows me understands that playing worlds was always my dream. But there is always a thing more important and that is taking care of your family when there is intense suffering, and I felt very bad being so far away in such a difficult time when I was needed so for me.

This was the right choice. Anything else people say is not true and I would never leave this opportunity for petty reasons so please stop speculating and making things up as if you know anything because it hurts my privacy and the people I care most about.

Thank you for the support and I will continue my break from social media and hopefully the team bounces back.”
