G2 Esports was the first team that dominated the Valorant scene as Ninjas In Pyjamas did in CS:GO when it first came out. However, G2 Esports’ domination on the European region didn’t live long enough.

After winning almost every tournament they attended, the European teams started to understand the meta of the game and the downfall of the G2 Esports started in early 2021.

Because of the fact that they were underperforming for a while, the organization decided to make roster changes. Yesterday, G2 firstly announced the departures of Patryk “paTiTek” Fabrowski, Ardis “ardiis” Svarenieks, and Aleksander “zeek” Zygmunt via Twitter.

Oscar “mixwell’ Canelas bid farewell to his teammates on Twitter. “Farewell to the king Ardiis, funniest player ever and insane talent. Patitej best human being i’ve met in this business, great player and teammate,” he said. “Also zeek even though we didn’t play much together, I know he can go really far. I will miss you. See you in Berlin.”

Then, the organization announced the additions of Team Heretics players Žygimantas “nukkye” Chmieliauskas and Auni “AvovA” Chahade, and also Acend player Jose Luis “koldamenta” Aranguren Herrero.

All of these three players have proven themselves in thr tournaments for the past few months as Heretics won lots of tournaments such as First Strike Europe, and Acend won the VCT 2021: Europe Stage 1 Masters.

“The journey in Heretics has came to an end, new chapter has began in G2 Esports,” 23-year-old Lithuanian player said. “Excited about the future with this great lineup time to do some damage in the scene.”

AvovA was also pretty excited about joining such an organization as G2 Esports. “I’m so happy to announce that I’ve joined the G2 Esports Valorant team! How do you think I’ll look in black? Thank you to Team Heretics for our time together,” youngster said. “Hyped to be playing with this great lineup, my bro nukkyez & ready to show how much damage the G2 Army  can do!”

Here is the official announcement from G2 Esports:

“Today, we announce the biggest Valorant roster moves that no one saw coming. We’re beyond excited to welcome Žygimantas ‘nukkye’ Chmieliauskas, Auni ‘AvovA’ Chahade and Jose Luis ‘koldamenta’ Aranguren Herrero as the newest members of our Valorant roster.

After not qualifying for Valorant Masters in Iceland, we knew we needed to take the team in a new direction. We’re not looking to be on the sidelines, we’re looking to be the best. With these changes, we’re ready to take on the next challenge and win Valorant Masters 2 in our home city of Berlin.”
