G2 Esports is considered as the best European team in the LEC for the past four years. At the start of 2021, their downfall started as Luka “Perkz” Perković joined Cloud9 and they add Martin “Rekkles” Larsson.

Even though most of the community expected to see G2 Esports win the LEC title once more, the organization couldn’t make it to the finals in both Spring and Summer splits. Therefore, they couldn’t qualify for either MSI or Worlds.

Following the unexpected results, G2 Esports founder and CEO Carlos “ocelote” Rodríguez Santiagos shared a video on his official Twitter account to announce huge roster changes within the organization.

In the announcement, ocelote revealed that they will be benching their top laner as well as the bot lane duo, Martin “Wunder” Hansen, Martin “Rekkles” Larsson, and Mihael “Mikyx” Mehle, and looking for trade options for the next season.

Furthermore, G2 Esports also will be parting ways with all of the support staff as well as Sng “Nelson” Yi-Wei and Fabian “GrabbZ” Lohmann. Right now, Marcin “Jankos” Jankowski and Rasmus “Caps” Borregaard Winther are the only remaining members of the team.

Great couple of years,” G2 Esports’ jungler Jankos bid farewell to his teammates. “Definitely gonna miss everyone who’s not gonna be part of the team next year, especially my boy Mikyx and Wunder.”

G2 Esports is now:

Marcin “Jankos” Jankowski
Rasmus “Caps” Borregaard Winther
Martin “Wunder” Hansen (benched)
Martin “Rekkles” Larsson (benched)
Mihael “Mikyx” Mehle (benched)
