G2 Esports entered the Valorant esports scene justly after the release of the game. Immediately after, they started to dominate Europe with their main star player Oscar “mixwell” Cañellas Colocho.

They won every single tournament they attended until September 2020, such as WePlay! Invitational, BLAST Twitch Invitational, and many more. However, they stunned by Team Heretics in First Strike Europe and eliminated in the playoffs.

It was the first time we saw G2 Esports vulnerable. Even though they managed to come alive at Red Bull Home Ground and won the tournament against Team Liquid, the downfall of the roster started.

Since then, they haven’t managed to win a single trophy in the tournaments, and they had become one of the biggest disappointments in the European scene compared to the roster and the budget.

Therefore, G2 Esports rebuilded their roster after VCT Masters: Reykjavík before the new season starts. They parted ways with Ardis “ardiis” Svarenieks, Patryk “paTiTek” Fabrowski, and Aleksander “zeek” Zygmunt.

To replace the three seats, G2 Esports signed Žygimantas “nukkye” Chmieliauskas and Auni “AvovA” Chahade from Team Heretics, and they also added Jose Luis “koldamenta” Aranguren Herrero from Acend at the start of this month.

However, it seems like the organization isn’t happy about the performance of the team in the training and decided to part ways with their long-time player Jacob “pyth” Mourujärvi. Afterward, they announced the addition of French talent Cista “keloqz” Wassim.

G2 Esports is now:

  • Oscar “mixwell” Cañellas Colocho
  • Žygimantas “nukkye” Chmieliauskas
  • Auni “AvovA” Chahade
  • Jose Luis “koldamenta” Aranguren Herrero
  • Cista “keloqz” Wassim
