Nikola Kovač, known as “NiKo,” is a 24-year-old Bosnian CS:GO player who has been representing G2 Esports for over one year. Before that, he had played for FaZe Clan and Mousesports.

Since the addition of NiKo to G2 Esports roster, the European organization had been struggling to perform on the events. However, they have been showing up for the last two tournaments, especially in PGL Major Stockholm right now.

While the tournament goes on, NiKo spoke in a recent interview with to reflect on their showing in the event, their expectations, and which teams they might struggle to play against at major.

In the talk, NiKo pointed out that Natus Vincere is on another level compared to the rest of the scene and praised their performance. As NiKo said, no other team had become so consistent as the CIS roster.

Natus Vincere playing monstrously thanks to their superstar Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev since the start of 2021, and they managed to win nine out of fourteen tournaments so far before going into the major.

Furthermore, the experienced player mentioned that any other team can be beatable besides Natus Vincere and said that they want to go deep as possible in major. As NiKo said, they have a pretty good chance to move on towards the finals.

NiKo talked about Natus Vincere and their expectations:

“In general, as I said, we feel confident to play against anyone, and I think we cannot lose to many teams here except maybe NAVI, Gambit, NIP… But other teams, I feel like we won’t have too many problems if we keep playing like this. The map doesn’t matter.

I think NAVI is just one step ahead of everyone, while the other teams, no one has really been consistent ever since the season started. There was no team who did something amazing other than NAVI, so I think all the other teams are very beatable, and it’s going to all be down to us, how we perform.

We obviously want to go as deep as possible at this event. First thing I think for everyone is to secure the playoffs and playing in the arena for the first time in ages, it’s going to mean a lot to everyone.”

Later in the conversation, NiKo also talked about the new map Ancient and why the T side is lot better compared to the early days of the release and revealed that the Molotov bug is actually making the map easier for the T side.
