Abai “Hobbit” Hasenov is a 27-year-old Kazakh CS:GO player who made a name for himself with the major victory at PGL Major Kraków 2017 with Gambit. Even though he left the roster in the next year, he returned back last year.

Gambit Esports is one of the best ascending teams for the last year as they have been playing on the high level with inexperienced players who was playing at the tier-2 tournaments only. However, they dominated the scene since the start of this year.

The CIS roster is competing at PGL Major Stocholm 2021 right now, and they recently played against Virtus.pro and ended up winning after a close match. Following the match, Hobbit spoke in an interview with hltv.

In the conversation, Hobbit touched upon the fact that it has been really hard to play against CIS teams, and it becomes much harder when it comes to Virtus.pro. In this way, he showed his respect for the organization and the roster.

Furthermore, the experienced player pointed out that he has friends within the Virtus.pro roster and mentioned that it is so hard to beat them in such an important tournament. Later on, he wished them luck for the future.

Hobbit on facing Virtus.pro:

It’s always hard to play against CIS teams, especially against Virtus.pro. You know, they’re my friends, from Kazakhstan. Dastan, he’s my friend, I talk to him a lot, it’s hard to beat them in such an important tournament, but I wish them good luck and I hope to see both them and us on the playoff stage.”

Later in the conversation, Hobbit also talked about the problems they have as a rookie team and pointed out that he has been trying to make everybody calm in the tournament, but it doesn’t really work out for them yet.
