In December 2019, Gen.G Esports announced their entrance to the CS:GO scene with the addition of two of the core Cloud9 players, Damian “daps” Steele and Timothy “autimatic” Ta, alongside Kenneth “koosta” Suen and Sam “s0m” Oh.

After a while, they reinforced their roster with the addition of Indonesian player Hansel “BnTeT” Ferdinand. After two months, they won their first tournaments against Furia Esports, DreamHack Open Anaheim 2020.

In May, Gen.G Esports managed to earn their second trophy in ESL One: Road to Rio – North America against Furia Esports once again and showed what they are capable of in the scene.

However, the organization couldn’t find any consistency following the online era of the game and bad results were inevitable. Following these results, daps and s0m decided to leave the roster in September and October and retired to play Valorant.

To compete in Flashpoint 2, Gen.G needed to find two more players for the replacements of daps and s0m, and they agreed with Richard “Xizt” Landström and Rasmus “kreaz” Johansson. However, these additions are only temporary for the squad for now.

Here is the announcement from Gen.G Esports:

“We have our 4th and 5th for Flashpoint 2! ⚡️⚡️

Xizt will be standing in for us on a loan from Dignitas and kreaz will also stand-in for the tournament! Time to get to work!”
