24-year-old American League Of Legends player Greyson Gilmer, known as “Goldenglue,” had recently played for Evil Geniuses in between July and November. Previously, he had played for teams like Cloud9, Team Liquid, and more.

For a long time, Goldenglue had been struggling to find his new home, but couldn’t manage to stay in one organization for over years. Following the struggle he faced, Goldenglue decided to make a huge statement on Twitter.

In the announcement, Goldenglue said that he decided to retire as a professional player and thanked all the people who supported him in his journey. Afterward, Goldenglue revealed that he has become the new head coach of the 100 Thieves Academy roster.

Here is what Goldenglue wrote:

“With much enthusiasm for the future, and a tinge of bittersweet emotions for the past, I am announcing my retirement from professionally playing League Of Legends.

Finally, from the bottom of my heart, I want to say thank you to all my friends, fans, and family (especially you mom) for supporting me in chasing my dreams. I will forever be grateful for my time as a player and hope you continue to support me as I take on my new role as the Head Coach for the 100Thieves Academy team.”
