Lee Min-hyeong, known as “Gumayusi,” is a 19-year-old South Korean League Of Legends player who has been representing T1 for over two years. In December 2019, he joined the team as a permanent player.

Gumayusi spoke in a recent interview with Korizon Esports’ Ashley Kang after they qualified for the League Of Legends World Championship and remembered the time when he decided to be a professional player.

Back in the day, Gumayusi’s name was known in the League Of Legends community, especially for the people who follow the high-elo players, as he was constantly playing the high-elo. Also, he peaked at the top of the solo queue in Korea at that time.

In the conversation, the young ADC player pointed out that he was such a famous player in the community even though he was an amateur and pointed out that this brought lots of opportunities for him.

Furthermore, Gumayusi stated that he actually had the chance of picking any team he wants to join because of his fame when he decided to become a professional player, and he choose T1 after what he heard about the iconic organization.

Gumayusi on joining T1:

“It feels a bit weird for me to say with my own mouth, but… I was very famous even as an amateur, right. I could pick and choose any organization I wanted to join.

And T1, after all, was the most known organization out of all of them. I was told by others just how. So I joined T1, and ever since I joined — I guess it’s been good.”
