Heroic CS:GO Team Quits Quarantine To Attend IEM Cologne

Heroic climbed all the way through the top for the last couple of years, and they finally proved themselves as one of the best teams in the world. Right now, they are sitting in fourth place in the world rankings of hltv.
The first LAN event of the CS:GO scene for the past year, IEM Cologne 2021, started a few days ago with all the coronavirus precautions, but Heroic announced yesterday that one of their players is tested positive for coronavirus.
Because of that, the team stayed under quarantine since then. However, they got an approval to quit quarantine and play their debut match against Team Spirit on the stage by ESL.
Moreover, ESL revealed that the player who is tested positive got the disease long before attending the Cologne, and the virus was not infectious at the time.

Furthermore, Heroic also revealed earlier that none of the players and staff are showing the symptoms of the coronavirus, and they are in a good condition right now. However, the organization didn’t reveal which player got the positive tests due to privacy protocols.
Here is Heroic’s announcement earlier:
“One of our players has tested positive for COVID as part of ESL’s standard testing routines. Thanks to these good routines from ESL, there has not been any close contact between Heroic and other players/staff. Heroic will therefore remain in quarantine in accordance with ESL’s COVID protocol.
All our players and staff are without symptoms and in good condition. We are still ready and excited to compete within the frames we are given by ESL. Currently this means that all team members are staying quarantined in their hotel rooms.
We will continue to follow ESL’s COVID protocols to ensure the safety of all players and crew on-site. The German health authorities have been informed and we will provide more information as we receive guidance from them.
We would appreciate it if the community and our fans would respect our players’ privacy in this situation, so they can focus on the tournament. “

Before getting to the IEM Cologne 2021, Heroic has been consistently playing on the top level of Counter-Strike. They were the champions of ESL Pro League Season 13 as they beat Gambit Esports and Furia Esports.
Later on, they were the 3rd-4th team in both BLAST Premier: Spring Showdown 2021 and DreamHack Masters Spring 2021 following their losses against Gambit Esports and Natus Vincere.
Afterward, they were the fourth-best team in Flashpoint 3 after getting eliminated by Ninjas In Pyjamas, who boosted their roster with the addition of dev1ce.
