Licorice Becomes The Player Of The Week In His Debut Weekend With Golden Guardians

Eric Ritchie, known as “Licorice,” is a 23-year-old Canadian League Of Legends player who is known for his time with Cloud9 between 2017 and 2020. In his career, he earned over $150.000 from the tournaments.
After parting ways with Cloud9 before LCS Spring 2021 starts, Licorice decided to join FlyQuest, which is one of the bottom-standing teams in the LCS. Although most of the fans questioned this decision by Licorice, he was confident enough to join.
However, things were not going well as they hoped for since the start of the Spring split. Therefore, the organization and Licorice mutually agreed to part ways as the top laner mentioned the problems between the playstyle differences.
Immediately after, Golden Guardians signed Licorice as their new top laner, and they just got one of the greatest weekends in the LCS Summer 2021 in the debut weekend of Licorice. They beat 100 Thieves and Team Liquid, but lost against Team SoloMid.
Following the huge performance by Licorice, LCS authorities decided to pick him as the Player Of The Week for week 6 of LCS Summer 2021. In this way, Licorice proved his talent to the scene once again.
Later on, Licorice also shared his reaction to winning the Player Of The Week award via Twitter and pointed out that he has been working so hard this split, and it was such a relief to see that it was worth it. Afterward, Licorice showed his gratitude to Golden Guardians staff as well as his new teammates for helping him to feel like home.
Here is the reaction from Licorice:
“I’ve been working my ass off all split and it’s such a relief to finally see it in my play on stage. I’m also so grateful to all the staff at GG and my new teammates for being amazing and helping me to feel at home and fit in so well right away.”
