Christopher “dexter” Nong is a 26-year-old Australian player who joined an European team for the first time with Mousesports in February 2021. For the past few months, they have been working to become a better team around the new in-game leader.

Before that, Finn “karrigan” Andersen had been leading Mousesports after he parted ways with FaZe Clan. Even though Karrigan’s addition firstly brought lots of great results in 2019, the roster performed pretty badly in 2020.

Changing an in-game leader is one of the hardest things in a CS:GO team because the whole atmosphere such as training routines, playstyles, roles, and many more things could change with the new leader.

During a recent interview with, dexter talked about their performances in Flashpoint 3, how he adapted Europe, the results against Ninjas In Pyjamas, G2 Esports, and Astralis, and many more.

In the conversation, dexter mentioned that Karrigan has immediate decision-making during the game, even though if it’s bad or good, and the roster got used to this approach. On the other hand, his perspective about the calls is having more appropriate reactions.

Because of that, the Australian in-game leader admitted that he was shocked at the first time he joined Mousesports and doubted himself if he is doing the right thing or not. However, it worked for them in the end so they could win both Flashpoint Season 3 and Snow Sweet Snow 3.

“The boys had a culture of having an amazing IGL in Karrigan who knew what to do immediately: regardless if it was the right or wrong decision, it was a decision made” dexter said. “Meanwhile, my playstyle and leadership skills rely on trusting a lot in my teammates’ abilities and reading of their positions — what the CTs are doing and how they are placed —, and having an appropriate reaction. It is far more relaxed. So at the start, I definitely doubted myself because I didn’t know if it was right to be calling like this.”
