29-year-old veteran CS:GO player Olof “Olofmeister” Kajbjer Gustafsson wanted to share his opinion about the recent drama between Ninjas In Pyjamas and Anonymo Esports by giving an example from his past.

As we wrote about the drama before, Ninjas In Pyjamas had a technical problem against Anonymo Esports caused by the Flashpoint, and the Swedish organization lost the series. After the matchup, NIP made a statement about it.

After the statement, Flashpoint forced Anonymo Esports to replay the match, and this behavior got criticized by most people. However, there were lots of people who insulted professional players and threatened their lives for it.

Olof saw the toxicity inside the community, he wanted to warn the people. As Olof gave an example from his career, which was the controversial Olofboost, he said that people should care about and remember that it’s a human being on the other side.

What Is Olofboost And What Happened?

As you might already know, the legendary player Olof “Olofmeister” Kajbjer Gustafsson is known for not because of his pure individual skill, he is also known for the illegal boost they made with Fnatic on Overpass.

The incident happened after Fnatic attended the DreamHack Winter 2014. They managed to pass the group stage over Cloud9 and South African team Bravado Gaming. However, they struggled in the quarterfinals against Team LDLC.

The first map went in the favor of the French roster, and Olofmeister and his colleagues managed to win the second map. However, Fnatic was behind 13-2 in the third map, Overpass, and the things started in the second round of the second half.

Fnatic made a boost on top of the A Bombsite that, Olofmeister could see the whole B bombsite as well as the water part. Therefore, they managed to come back and beat the LDLC without losing any single round.

After the matchup, this Olofboost created a controversy, and the authorities decided that the boost was illegal and canceled the results. Even though they offered Fnatic to replay the last map, the Swedish roster decided to forfeit and eliminated from the tournament.

However, the elimination of Fnatic didn’t make some of the die-hard fans satisfied, and they started to insult the Fnatic players on social media. According to the last statement of Olof, these toxicity made him almost quit the competitive CS:GO scene.

Here is what Olofmeister said:

“Whatever you think is right or wrong in this whole NiP vs Anonymo situation think about what you write. It’s not just a nickname on the other side, it’s a human being. I remember the boost incident, it made me very close to quitting competing entirely.”
