Davide Bucci, known as “FoxA,” is a 23-year-old Canadian Rainbow Six Siege player who has been playing for Oxygen Esports since May 2020. Previously, he had represented Team Reciprocity and Cloud9.

FoxA and Oxygen Esports are going to compete at Six Sweden Major 2021 to represent North America, but unfortunately, the organization announced that FoxA is not able to play for the team in the tournament due to the positive COVID-19 test result.

Therefore, 31-year-old American coach Anthony “HOP3Z” Nizzardo will be standing in for FoxA. Following the announcement, the Canadian player shared his feelings about the situation via his Twitter account.

In the post, FoxA pointed out that he was being careful about his health before trying to leave the county but it wasn’t enough. While he was saying that he let everybody down with this news, he also apologized to everybody for this unfortunate news.

Furthermore, the talented fragger mentioned that his team will be giving their bests and thanked everybody for their support. In addition to that, FoxA also said that he will recover from the disease quickly.

“I thought I was being careful before the event but unfortunately I wasn’t safe enough,” he said. “Let my team down, let my org and the community down. My team still is gonna play there hearts out. I’m sure I’ll recover quickly and thank you for the support.”

Here’s the official announcement from Oxygen Esports:

“Unfortunately, FoxA has tested positive for covid-19 before leaving for Sweden. He is asymptomatic and in good spirits but will not be able to participate in the upcoming major. Coach HOP3Z will play as our sub for the event. FoxA, HOP3Z, and all of Oxygen appreciate your support.”
