Ilya Rhys-Mayers, known as “Rhyzzy,” was a Russian Rainbow Six Siege caster and commentator who is known for his work on the top-tier tournaments and events for the Russian community. He is also the esports manager of REIMEI Esports.

Rhyzzy started his career with Russian Major League Season 1 back in 2018, and he had been casting the matches since then. During this period, he worked at Six Invitational 2020, Six August 2020 Major, and many more.

Yesterday, REIMEI Esports announced on their official Twitter account that Rhyzzy passed away and saddened the community who were recently mourning the death of famous caster Michael “KiXSTAr” Stockley.

KiXSTAr left this world due to a car crash about two weeks ago, and the community got devastated by another passing from the esports scene. As REIMEI Esports announced, Rhyzzy was tested positive for COVID-19 last week.

This will be the second loss that the Rainbow Six Siege community has been dealing with due to coronavirus. Back in May, former Chaos Esports Club player Arif “Next1” Keskin also died because of COVID-19.

Here’s the official announcement:

“Our esports manager and official Russian Rainbow Six caster Ilya ‘Rhyzzy’ Mayers has died. Ilya has done a lot for our organization and for Rainbow Six Siege community.

We will miss him a lot.  Last week he was sick with COVID-19. We are expressing our condolences to his family and friends.”
