Liam Schembri, known as “Malta,” is a 25-year-old Australian CS:GO player who has been playing for Renegades since December 2019. Before that, he had been playing for Grayhound Gaming since April 2018.

Yesterday, Renegades CS:GO lineup spoke in an interview with and talked about lots of things like competing during the coronavirus outbreak, how they are preparing themselves, and many more.

In the conversation, Malta shared his thoughts on their former player Christopher “Dexter” Nong’s departure and said that they knew we would leave to test himself in an international lineup because he was such a great player.

Interviewer asked:

“On the outside, dexter leaving the team seemed like a big hit for the squad. What was losing him like for the team? Did you expect this change to happen earlier?”

Malta replied:

“Chris leaving was something we’d prepared for ahead of time. He’s a great player and we knew one day he’d be off to test himself in an international lineup. It came at both a good and bad time.

Since we’d spent the year in Australia, we needed to do a complete rehaul of our playbook anyway so we really were starting fresh. We’ve improved quicker than I expected, all things considered.”
