Jordan “Zellsis” Montemurro is an American former CS:GO player who had played for teams like Cloud9, Swole Patrol, and many more. Also, he has been playing Valorant for Version1 since February 2021.

During VCT Masters Reykjavík, Version1 surprised the world as underdogs because they were not expected to be in the tournament among the teams such as 100 Thieves, Team SoloMid, and more.

Also, they impressed the community with their performances even playing with a stand-in. Unfortunately, Version1 could continue to play with a temporary member because Zellsis got suspended for the first Challenger Open Qualifier and first Challenger Main Event of Stage 3.

According to Riot Games’ official statement, Zellsis made an offensive remark about a tournament official during the team’s player check and rule review session, which is a violation of 7.1.2 of the Global Competition Policy.

“On May 28th, during the team’s player check-in and rule review session, Zellsis made a categorically offensive and discriminatory remark about a tournament official,” Riot Games announced. “Zellsis violated rule 7.1.2 of the Global Competition Policy which mandates that players observe the highest standards of personal integrity and good sportsmanship at all times.”

After the announcement, both Version1 and Zellsis apologized to Riot Games and accepted the decision Riot Games made. Also, Zellsis apologized to his teammates for putting them in a rough position.

Here is what Zellsis said:

“I want to apologize to Riot staff for making an inappropriate remark in Iceland. I take responsibility for my actions and will learn from this mistake. I’m sorry to my teammates for putting them in this position. Will be taking a few days off social media. I will be better.”
