Sentinels is a North American organization that started to compete in the Valorant scene in April 2020. Even though they struggle to show off in the first two months, they started to win some trophies in summer.

Among 100 Thieves and Team SoloMid, Sentinels weren’t considered as the best team in North America because they had lots of ups and downs during this period. Even though they won some tournaments like Pop Flash and JBL Quantum Cup, they couldn’t perform in First Strike North America.

However, the addition of Tyson “TenZ” Ngo changed everything for Sentinels because he was the missing piece of the puzzle for them. In March 2021, Sentinels loaned TenZ from Cloud9 and started to dominate the scene.

After being the best team in North America in a short period by winning four out of five tournaments, Sentinels dominated the first international tournament in the scene, VCT Masters Reykjavík.

Sentinels won against Fnatic in the finals of Reykjavík and earned the trophy without dropping a single map point.

As Sentinels become the best team in the world, they decided to sign TenZ permanently. According to the reports of The Esports Observer, Sentinels completed the seven-figured buyout of TenZ.

Later on, Sentinels’ official Twitter account confirmed the rumors. “He is here to stay,” the organization said by referring to TenZ. However, there is no official announcement made by Sentinels yet.
