After the retirement decision from their in-game leader Troy “Canadian” Jaroslawski in March 2021, Spacestaion Gaming has been looking for a suitable replacement for the legendary player, and they finally found what they have been looking for.

The North American organization announced via Twitter that they agreed with 22-year-old American player Matthew “Hotancold” Stevens as a permanent fifth member, who was recently playing for Mirage.

Hotancold is mostly known for his days with DarkZero Esports between November 2018 and February 2021. In the next year with DarkZero, Hotancold managed to become the top team in the groups stage of Pro League Season 10 – North America.

Furthermore, they also reached the finals of Pro League Season 10 – Finals, but lost against Natus Vincere. In 2020, DarkZero peaked their best and won Six August 2020 Major – North America against Team SoloMid, and they finished NAL 2020 US Division – Stage 2 at the top.

After reaching the finals of NAL 2020 US Division – Finals and losing against Team SoloMid with 1-3, Hotancold left the roster after three years and joined Canadian esports organization, Mirage.

“Superexcited to be joining such an awesome group of guys,” Hotancold said on joining Spacestation. “I think we can achieve great things as a roster, and I am ready to prove it. Big thanks to all of my fans for following me all the way here.”

Spacestation Gaming is now:

  • Javier “Thinkingnade” DeAndre Escamilla
  • Nathanial “Rampy” Duvall
  • Alec “Fultz” Fultz
  • Dylan “Bosco” Bosco
  • Matthew “Hotancold” Stevens
