T1 is one of the greatest esports organizations in the world that made a name for themselves with the League Of Legends scene. However, the organization suffered from the passing of their COO John Kim.

Yesterday, the organization shared a post on Twitter to announce the loss of chief operating officer John Kim, who was leading all T1’s global operational functions including Fortnite, Dota 2, Hearthstone, and more.

Furthermore, T1 announced that John had been struggling with health issues, and those problems are the reason for his passing at the age of forty-one. However, the organization didn’t detail the problems.

Additionally, the organization stated that they are mourning the death of a wonderful person as they continue to celebrate his life and what he has done for T1 so far. Then, they sent their condolences to his family.

This news saddened the whole esports community as well as John’s colleagues, and Gen.G Esports’ COO Arnold also shared his deepest feelings about John. “The esports world lost a good one today too soon,” he said. “A great guy both professionally and personally who will be sorely missed. Rest In Peace.”

Here is the official announcement from T1:

“It is with profound sadness that we inform you of the passing of our COO, John Kim. After being hospitalized on July 7 due to health issues, John passed away on July 16, 2021.

John has been instrumental in building T1, worked tirelessly for our players and staff and he will be missed dearly. While we mourn the loss of our dear friend and colleague, we will also continue to celebrate his life and the time we had with him.

Please keep John’s family in your thoughts as they go through this difficult time.”
