Adam Eccles, known as “ec1s,” is a 20-year-old British Valorant player who had been playing for Team Liquid since August 2020. Before that, he was playing for fish123. Also, he was the in-game leader of the roster.

As you might remember, Team Liquid performed really well in the playoffs this year but could get any trophy in the end. Following the struggle they had in the playoffs, they decided to add the talented player Elias “Jamppi” Olkkonen to the roster.

The addition of Jamppi led to the benching of ec1s from the beginning, and yesterday, ec1s took his official Twitter account to share a new post and announced that they officially parted ways with Team Liquid.

The Reason Why Jamppi Did Join Team Liquid

Before announcing his transition to Valorant, Jamppi was playing CS:GO, and he was considered as one of the most talented players in the scene. However, he received a VAC ban when he was a child.

Because of this ban, Valve didn’t let him play on the Valve-sponsored events, which are the most important tournaments on the scene. Even though he sued Valve for this topic, the result was a disaster for Jamppi.

Following the resistance he faced by Valve, Jamppi decided to leave one of the strongest organizations in the CS:GO scene, ENCE, and announced that he will be playing Valorant from now.

What Changed After Jamppi Joined Team Liquid?

After the addition of Jamppi, he replaced ec1s immediately. Having another talented member alongside Adil “ScreaM” Benrlitom increased the firepower of the roster, and they showed up some good results in the officials.

In the first tournament after practicing for a month with Jamppi, Team Liquid reached out to the finals of VCT 2021: Europe Stage 2 Challengers 2. Unfortunately, they lost the final against the young and talented roster of Fnatic.

However, their redemption started in the next tournament, VCT 2021: EMEA Stage 2 Challengers Finals. In this tournament, they played well both team-wise and individually, and managed to beat Fnatic in the finals.

Here is the roster that will play for Liquid in VCT 2021: Reykjavík:

  • Dom “soulcas” Sulcas
  • James “Kryptix” Affleck
  • Travis “L1NK” Mendoza
  • Adil “ScreaM” Benrlitom
  • Elias “Jamppi” Olkkonen

Here is the official statement from ec1s:

“Officially no longer apart of Team Liquid, thanks to everyone for the memories it was an absolute pleasure. I am now looking for new opportunities in Valorant, I have been grinding these past 3 months and I am keen to show the progress.”
