Team Liquid’s Nivera Explains Why He Switched To Valorant

Nabil Benrlitom, known as “Nivera,” is a 20-year-old Belgian CS:GO player who was recently playing for Team Vitality since October 2020 as a sixth player. Previously, he was playing for Team Heretics.

Nivera is the younger brother of legendary player Adil “ScreaM” Benrlitom, who switched to Valorant in June 2020 and joined Team Liquid in the next month. Since then, he has been one of the best players in the game.

Even though Team Liquid was looking good on paper especially with the addition of Elias “Jamppi” Olkkonen, they couldn’t perform as expected and couldn’t qualify for VCT Masters: Berlin 2021.

The community expecting a roster change from the European organization since then, and the change finally announced yesterday as James “Kryptix” Affleck takes a break due to personal problems.

Furthermore, Team Liquid announced that they added Nabil “Nivera” Benrlitom as the new player and confirmed the rumors about the Nivera and ScreaM’s reunion that dropped out months ago.

During an interview with Dexerto, Nivera revealed that he lost his motivation to play Counter-Strike, saying that he doesn’t want to continue playing the game. According to the young talent, this was the main reason for switching to Valorant.

On the other side of the coin, the Belgian rifler pointed out that his brother ScreaM told him Valorant will be a big esports game in the future. Because of how much Nivera trusts ScreaM, this was another point of leaving Counter-Strike.

Nivera talked about his transition to Valorant in the interview:

“I could have joined many CS teams, but I lost my motivation to play. I didn’t want to continue playing CS professionally.

ScreaM told me that Valorant will be a big esports game in the future, and I trust him. He helped me a lot during my CS career. I always took good opportunities. I would have switched anyway, I think. But yes, having my brother alongside me will be really entertaining.”

Later in the conversation, Nivera pointed out that he will give his best to make sure they are going to be one of the best teams in the world and showed his dedication and motivation to play for his team.
