Casper Møller, known as “cadiaN” had been playing for North since 2018. On 2 May, Team North decided to bench cadiaN and bring valde to Team Captain. Also, they announced their fifth player, Danish awper Jakob “JUGI” Hansen. valde also becomes the in-game leader.

Valdemar “valde” Bjørn:

“I cannot promise you miracle-results overnight and there will definitely be bumps along the road, but what I can promise you is someone who’s willing to sacrifice what it takes to bring his team to the top. I really believe that my vision and leadership will take us there. I hope you guys will follow me on this journey. It would mean a lot to me”

valde continued:

“I feel that the time has come for me to take on extra responsibilities within the team. Becoming an in-game leader and team captain is not a decision you make overnight. It’s something I’ve thought about many, many times during my career and I knew within myself that the day where I would make that transition was gonna come at one point but I certainly didn’t see it coming this early”

Also team coach Torbjørn “mithR” Nyborg about the roster changes:

“We have looked inwards in order to rethink our approach to the game. Valde has been eminent at helping out with making decisions during games and he is a natural born leader. We have seen his abilities as a leader, he is ready and he has chosen to take over as captain for the team”

“JUGi is a great talent and I am convinced that he will do great within our ranks. Having worked with Jakob before, I know what he is capable of, and I am sure that he will shine with the new tactical structure that we are creating. Also valde and Jakob has played together back in Heroic which is an advantage for sure”

cadiaN said:

“despite a hard fight, we didn’t manage to secure the goals that we wanted. I will look back at my time in North, with a lot of memories, some good, and some bad – but nevertheless, it’s been part of a journey, which I’m looking forward to continue at a different place. I want to wish all of North staff, and players the best of luck for the future”

Ex-Pro player and Analyst Pimp said:

“North rocking @Officialvalde as their new ingame leader. What a move that is. Is it risky? I’m not even sure, Valde is the full package, a guy i’d love to be led by as a player! Cadian is by no means done, he has so much to offer, someone will sign him soon enough.”
