Dan Madesclaire, known as “apEX,” is a 28-year-old French CS:GO player who has been playing for Team Vitality since October 2018. Before that, he was playing for teams like Team Envy, G2 Esports, and more.

apEX took the lead when the in-game leader Alex “ALEX” McMeekin left the roster in March 2020. Even though it was his first experience, Team Vitality did a great job competing at the high level.

However, the roster had been struggling for the past few months, and Team Vitality decided to bench their veteran player Cédric “RpK” Guipouy and added the young gun, Jayson “Kyojin” Nguyen Van.

Coming towards the PGL Major Stockholm 2021, the French roster seemed a bit inconsistent especially while Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut was underperforming compared to his statistic from the last two years.

While they were competing at the major, apEX spoke in a recent interview with hltv and talked about their expectations from the roster and how they would end up competing for the trophy once again.

In the talk, the experienced player pointed out that they don’t really know what to expect from the tournament especially having two rookies with them, Kévin “misutaaa” Rabier and Jayson “Kyojin” Nguyen Van.

Furthermore, apEX pointed out that their only escape road and hope for the tournament is Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut. As apEX said, he told ZywOo that they are not going to qualify if he starts to perform.

apEX talked about their expectations:

“With two rookie guys, you don’t know what to expect exactly, even though you know we know that we did good after the player break. We don’t know how we’re going to play out a major because they never played the major.

And that wasn’t the ZywOo we know the first two games, and I told him, I was completely honest, if he’s not there we’re not gonna qualify.”

Right now, Team Vitality have been competing at the Legends stage at PGL Major Stockholm 2021, and their record is 2-2 as they were the seventh team in the group. In order to qualify for Champions, they need to be in the first eight teams.
