Oleksandr Kostyliev, known as “s1mple,” is a 22-year-old Ukrainian CS:GO player who has been playing under Natus Vincere jersey for over four years. Previously, he had played for Team Liquid. In his career, he earned over $650.000 from the events.

Since 2016, he has named the most valuable player in the high-tier tournaments at least ten times. Additionally, he was the best player in the world on hltv’s ranking in 2018 and was the second-best player in 2019.

2020 was not a great year for s1mple and Natus Vincere, even though they made a hell of an entrance to the year. In January, they lost the finals of ICE Challenge 2020 against Mousesports.

In the next month, they managed to win BLAST Premier: Spring 2020 Regular Season and followed it up with the victory of Intel Extreme Masters XIV – World Championship against G2 Esports. However, the downfall started after all the tournaments went online due to the coronavirus outbreak.

First, they got eliminated in the group stage of ESL One: Road to Rio – CIS, and they lost against FaZe Clan in the lower bracket of DreamHack Masters Spring 2020: Europe and finished the tournament at the fourth place.

After a short period, they also couldn’t reach the finals and ended up being in the fourth place again at BLAST Premier: Spring 2020 European Finals.

Moreover, NaVi continued to underperform in the ESL One: Cologne 2020 Online – Europe and eliminated in the group stage. With these recent results, they saddened and disappointed their fan base.

Following the bad result of the middle of the year, s1mple couldn’t earn much money that everybody has expected. In total, he earned only $90.000 from these tournaments in 2020, and the highs money he earned from one tournament was $50.000 from the Intel Extreme Masters XIV – World Championship.
