Rainbow Six Siege is one of the new tactical-shooter games that started to take a place in the top-tier esports tournaments in 2017, starting the biggest event in the scene featuring $100.000, Six Invitational 2017.

Although the North American team Continuum won the first major event, the European era started the next year with the players such as Niclas “Pengu” Mouritzen and Fabian “Fabian” Hällsten, under the PENTA Esports and G2 Esports jerseys.

For the two years, they dominated the scene by winning Six Invitational 2018, Six Major Paris 2018, Pro League Season 8 – Finals, and Six Invitational 2019. Although they reached the finals of Six Major Raleigh 2019, they lost against Spacestation Gaming and their downfall just started.

The Beginning Of The Brazilian Era In Rainbow Six Siege

As G2 Esports started to underperform, the finalist of the Six Invitational 2019, Spacestation Gaming, started to show their true talents in 2020, and they even won the Six Invitational 2020. However, there was something in this tournament that few of the people realized.

In 2019, most of the Brazilian teams were standing in the middle of the leaderboard. However, Ninjas In Pyjamas managed to beat all expectations and put a great show against Spacestation Gaming in Six Invitational 2020.

Furthermore, the Brazilian teams such as MIBR and Team Liquid showed some great promising results, even though they couldn’t get through to the end of the tournament. But, things are going to be changed in Six Invitational 2021.

Ninjas In Pyjamas at the Six Invitational 2020

Through the end of 2020, Ubisoft announced the operation Neon Dawn, which is considered as the most positive operation in terms of balancing the meta of the game. Before this operation, the game for the past year was playing around the utility.

However, things have changed following Operation Neon Dawn because the most criticized operators and utilities such as Wamai and his MAG-NET’s, Goyo and his shields are nerfed, and this opened up the way for a more aggressive playstyle.

Brazil is a region that known for their unique and aggressive playstyle in all shooter games, such as CS:GO and Valorant, and it is not a different story in Rainbow Six Siege. With these changes, Brazilians felt more comfortable in lots of scenarios.

Because nobody could prepare themselves for such an aggressive but coordinated playstyle, the Brazilian teams have dominated the Six Invitational 2021. Although Furia Esports eliminated in the playoffs, it is a historic tournament for the Brazilian scene.

Ninjas In Pyjamas eliminated the MIBR in the upper bracket finals and reached out to the finals once again. In the lower bracket finals, MIBR is going to face Team Liquid and the winner will pursue the final. You can watch the via Twitch today, starting at 18:15 UTC+3.

This will be the first time that a Brazilian team would get the Six Invitational trophy, and it will be the first time that two Brazilian teams will face each other in the finals. Also, the best three teams in the tournament are the Brazilian rosters.
