Twistzz Reflects On His Current Role In FaZe Clan Compared To Team Liquid

FaZe Clan has been trying to be the number one team in the world since 2017. They have added so many star players to the roster, but couldn’t stay at the top of the rankings consistently due to the roster changes.

The players such as Marcelo “coldzera” David, Markus “Kjaerbye” Kjærbye, Nikola “NiKo” Kovač, and Ladislav “GuardiaN” Kovács joined and left. But now, they have built a new roster that featuring Team Liquid’s star player Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken.

The players talked about their expectations and performances during the press conference before the first LAN event in CS:GO following the coronavirus outbreak, and Twistzz also revealed the differences between his roles in FaZe Clan and Team Liquid.

In the conversation, the Canadian fragger pointed out that he had been playing like an anchor in Team Liquid, and Twistzz was the passive player that should be staying as the last line of their defense strategy.

On the FaZe side, it is completely different for Twistzz. As he said, Twistzz has been taking much more aggressive spots even when he is lurking around. Also, he is taking a lot more initiative with the FaZe roster.

Zain Merchant asked:

“Twistzz, do you find you’re playing a different role than in Liquid?”

Twistzz replied:

“My roles from Liquid to now, I’d say everything is completely swapped. I was kind of like the anchor player, I was a passive player, I was supposed to be the last line of defence for Liquid.

On this team it’s very different, I feel like I’m in a lot more aggressive spots, and even when I’m lurking it’s usually a pretty aggressive lurk. It’s a lot less nade-throwing and more initiative-taking and trying to help decide where the should end, or helping Finn decide where the round should end.”

During the press conference, FaZe Clan in-game leader Karrigan also talked about the current roster and compared it to the old ones. According to the Danish player, FaZe roster is the best it has ever been in terms of roles.
